Woman charged with drunk driving after 3 pedestrians struck in Barrie

A woman is facing drunk driving charges after three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Barrie on Thursday evening.

Barrie Police were called to the intersection of Bayview Drive and Mapleview Drive East around 6:30 p.m. after getting reports multiple people had been hit by a vehicle.

Police allege a vehicle travelling southbound on Bayview struck three people and then crashed into two other vehicles.

The three pedestrians were transported to hospital, one with serious and life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Barrie, was arrested at the scene and also transported to hospital. She is facing three charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact police.
