Man wanted in a two unprovoked violent attacks in downtown core

Toronto police are searching for a suspect wanted in a pair of unprovoked violent attacks in the downtown core over the last 36 hours.

Investigators say on Dec. 9 at around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Dundas Street East and Victoria Street, a man approached the victim from behind and slashed them in the face with an “edged weapon” before fleeing the scene on foot.

Two days later, at around 5:45 a.m. in the Yonge and Adelaide streets area, a man approached someone asleep outside and slashed them in the face with an “edged weapon” before fleeing the scene.

Both victims were treated and released from the hospital.

Police say they believe the same person is behind the random attacks.

He is described as between 20 and 30 years of age and, at the time of the attacks, was wearing a black baseball cap, black headphones, a black winter jacket, black pants and tanned construction boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
