Toronto police say a parking enforcement officer was punched in the face while writing a ticket on Tuesday.
It happened around noon in the Grenville Street and Bay Street area.
Police say the officer was issuing a ticket for a posted No Stopping by-law, when the recipient took offence.
A physical altercation ensued, and police say a man punched the officer in the face, breaking his glasses.
Later that same day, police arrested Eduardo Baer, 61, of Toronto.
He’s charged with assaulting a peace officer and will appear in court at Old City Hall on January 23, 2023.
