Several GTA boards close schools ahead of winter storm
The CityNews Extreme Weather Centre has the latest on school closures, traffic and transit info, and other cancellations
A winter storm warning blankets the GTA as a multi-day weather system is expected to cause “hazardous” travel conditions due to snow, damaging winds and extreme cold temperatures.
The rain that started Thursday night across Toronto and GTA will change into flurries as the cold front moves in, bringing with it strong southwesterly winds. Environment Canada says the plummeting temperatures could lead to a potential flash freeze.
