Toronto man arrested for attempted murder after violent assault

Toronto police have arrested a man wanted on several charges, including aggravated assault and attempted murder.

Investigators say a man attended a park in the Bloor Street East and Parliament Street area in the St. James Town neighbourhood on Friday and allegedly assaulted another man.

Police did not disclose the victim’s injuries.

The man has been identified as 42-year-old Dwight Dequilla of Toronto.

He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, wearing a face mask or disguise, harassment, and four counts of failing to comply with a police order.

Dequilla is expected to appear in court on Saturday morning.
