Pedestrian struck along Eglinton West, driver arrested for alleged impaired driving

A pedestrian has been injured after being struck by a vehicle along Eglinton Street West.

Police were called to the intersection at Eglinton and Miranda Avenue before 9 p.m. to reports a person had been hit.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries but non-life threatening injuries. Police say they arrested the driver for alleged impaired driving on the scene.

Eglinton was closed between Miranda and Hartley Avenue, but has since reopened.

Police tell CityNews they arrested 33 people for impaired driving over the New Year’s holiday weekend.
