By Lucas Casaletto

Toronto police have made an arrest in an alleged violent robbery at a TTC subway station in the city’s east end.

Authorities were called to Broadview Subway Station on Monday just before 7 p.m. for reports that a woman had been robbed.

It’s alleged that she entered the subway station and was approached by a man who grabbed the victim’s purse. The interaction caused the woman to fall down a flight of stairs, police said.

The man then fled the station with the purse.

In additional video footage released by Toronto police, the man can be seen waiting for the woman and then tackles her to the ground before violently robbing her of her items.

On Thursday, police arrested 44-year-old McKinley Manalang of Toronto. He’s been charged with one count of robbery, failing to comply with a judicial release and failing to comply with probation.

He appeared in court on Thursday afternoon.
