Security footage captures violent Brampton crash; 21-year-old driver facing charges

Two people have been taken to hospital after a horrific car crash at Mountainash Rd and Countryside Dr in Brampton, Tuesday night.

A young man is facing several charges and two women are seriously injured after a violent crash in Brampton that was captured on video.

Peel police say they responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday for a two-vehicle collision at Countryside Drive and Mountainash Road, west of Airport Road.

Security footage from a driveway in the area appears to show a white sedan travelling westbound on Countryside and attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Mountainash. The car waits for one eastbound vehicle to go through the green light and then proceeds to make the turn when a second vehicle speeds through the intersection and smashes into it.

The back half of the white sedan appears to be ripped off upon impact while the speeding vehicle spins out of frame leaving behind a trail of flying debris.

Police tell CityNews two women in their 20s were in the white sedan that was struck. They were both sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries but their condition has been upgraded to non-life threatening.

Baldeep Sandhar, a 21-year-old man from Kitchener who is presently living in Brampton, was the lone occupant of the speeding vehicle. He is facing multiple charges including two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, driving while under suspension, racing a motor vehicle and operating without insurance.

Investigators say there were no signs of impairment.

Police say they are also reviewing additional surveillance video to determine if another vehicle may have been involved in the violent crash.
