One dead after two-vehicle crash involving motorcycle in King Township

One person has died after a motorcycle collided with a truck in King Township on Monday morning.

York police were called to Jane Street between Lloydtown-Aurora Road and Davis Drive just before 8 a.m.

The adult male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of truck was unharmed and remained on scene.

According to York police, the motorcycle had been travelling south on Jane Street, and collided with the pick-up truck that hauling a trailer as it turned left out of a private driveway to travel north on Jane Street.

“Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward,” said York police in a statement.

Roads in the area are closed and are expected to remain closed for several hours as members of the Major Collision Investigation Unit are on scene investigating.
