Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah optioned to Florida Complex League

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah has been optioned to the Florida Complex League, the team announced Tuesday.

The news comes after Manoah gave up six runs in the first inning to the Houston Astros and was subsequently pulled in an eventual 11-4 loss.

Manoah’s win-loss record is 1-7 this season, losing seven straight, and retired just one of the nine batters he faced. He has an ERA of 6.36 in 58 innings pitched.

Pitcher Chris Bassitt was reinstated from the paternity list after being designated as his wife gave birth on Sunday.

More moves included infielder Santiago Espinal being reinstated from the 10-day injured list after a right hamstring injury, and optioning pitcher Jay Jackson and infielder Ernie Clement to Triple-A Buffalo.
