Police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally stabbed in Scarborough.

Officers were called to a strip mall on Eglinton Avenue just west of Brimley Road around 7 p.m. Sunday night after getting reports that two people were fighting.

When they arrived they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken via emergency run to a nearby trauma centre where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not provided the age or name of the victim.

Police say the suspect was seen leaving the area with another person but they have yet to release a description.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
