Durham homicide unit investigating after man found dead in Oshawa

One man is dead and the homicide unit is investigating after a man was found dead in Oshawa.

Durham police say they were called to a residence near Bloor Street East and Wilson Road South around 5:40 a.m. Saturday following reports of a fight.

Police say once they arrived they found one man dead at the scene. Another man was taken into custody for aggravated assault but has since been released “unconditionally” following an investigation.

Police say the homicide unit is continuing to investigate and a postmortem is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.
