Man wanted for throwing smoke bomb at Toronto’s U.S. Consulate building

Toronto police are on the hunt for a man wanted for throwing what investigators believe was a smoke bomb at the United States Consulate building in the city’s downtown core.

Police were called to the Simcoe Street and Michael Sweet Avenue area at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday for reports of mischief.

It’s alleged a man was seen throwing a smoke bomb toward the entrance of the U.S. Consulate building. He fled southbound on Simcoe Street on a red e-bike.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as wearing a black and white jacket, blue jeans, blue surgical mask, black helmet, and black gloves, and was driving what investigators called a distinct red e-bike.
