Man dead after transport truck, SUV collide in Vaughan

A man is dead and police are investigating after a two-vehicle crash in Vaughan on Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to a collision on Jane Street near Highway 7 around 9:50 a.m.

York Regional Police tell CityNews a tractor-trailer collided with an SUV.

The driver of the SUV became trapped and needed to be extracted from the vehicle. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The truck driver was not injured.

The collision unit has now taken over the investigation.
