Man, 25, dead after being struck by car in Etobicoke

A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle in Etobicoke on Friday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the crash in the eastbound lanes of Burnhamthorpe Road near The West Mall around 4:10 a.m.
Police said a 25-year-old man was walking from the north side of Burnhamthorpe Road to the south side, on the east side of The West Mall, when he was struck.
The victim was rushed to a trauma centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver, a 41-year-old man, remained at the scene. Photos from the scene show a silver sedan with front-end bumper damage.
Eastbound Burnhamthorpe was closed at The West Mall for the investigation, but the roads have since reopened.
