A trip inside the courthouse for Donald Trump’s trial

In today’s The Big Story podcast, former U.S. president, Donald Trump, is facing criminal charges, a historical first. It’s been two weeks since the trial began, and the former president has been complaining about the temperature in the courtroom — when he isn’t appearing to fall asleep.

Andrew Rice is a features writer with New York Magazine covering the Trump trial. “If things go poorly for [Trump] at this trial, I think we will start to see … him saying and doing things potentially, that could result in a confrontation with the judge,” says Rice, “and how that confrontation would end up playing out is hard to predict.”  

So what’s it like in the courthouse? What’s the bigger picture of a former president running to get his job back while facing jail time? And could Donald J. Trump actually wind up in jail?
