Man dead, woman injured after early-morning shooting in Toronto’s Oakwood Village

One man is dead, and a woman was injured following an overnight shooting in Toronto’s Oakwood Village neighbourhood.

Toronto police were called to Winona Drive, near Oakwood Avenue and Vaughan Road, at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Homicide detectives tell CityNews that a man and a woman were standing outside an apartment building when a vehicle pulled up, and either one or multiple suspects opened fire.

A man in his 30s was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead, while a woman suffered minor injuries.

“The suspect or suspects approached [the victims] in a vehicle. We are canvassing the area for video to get a better description,” said Const. Jason Davis.

The investigation is ongoing.
