Police seeks suspects in ‘targeted’ Markham shooting

York Regional Police are trying to identify suspects in a shooting at a Markham home that investigators believe was a “targeted” murder attempt.

Officers were called to a residence on Lee Avenue in the Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue area on Saturday, June 8, at around 10:30 p.m. for reports of a man shot outside a home.

When emergency crews arrived they found a victim in the area. He was rushed to trauma centre where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

“There were numerous people in the house at the time,” police said in a release. “Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.”

Despite police saying there were many witnesses in the area, no suspect descriptions are currently available.

Investigators did say that a white sedan was seen leaving the area after the shooting.
