Man wanted for assaulting ride-share driver in downtown Toronto

A male suspect is wanted for allegedly assaulting and robbing a ride-share driver in Toronto’s downtown core last month.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) said at around 6:45 a.m. on Nov. 16, a group of people tried to enter a ride-share vehicle in the McCaul Street and Queen Street West area.

The victim refused to drive the group, and one man allegedly assaulted the driver and stole their cell phone. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

The ride-share driver suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a male in his early 20s, around five-foot-eleven and 165 pounds, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater with a picture of “Snoop Dogg” on the front, black pants and a ski mask.

Photos have been released. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
