Man fatally shot at Oshawa apartment building

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is investigating after a man was fatally shot in Oshawa on Tuesday.
Authorities were called to an apartment building at 1040 Cedar Street at around 2 p.m. following reports of an armed person in the area.
Officers found a man inside the building who was suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Homicide Unit is now leading an investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death.
On Wednesday, DRPS identified the victim as 29-year-old Dennis Binda of Oshawa. However, no suspect description has been released.
Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
