Toronto man wanted for 2018 attempted murder arrested in Guyana

A man wanted for attempted murder back in 2018 has been arrested in Guyana.

Toronto police say back on Nov. 23, 2018 at around 6 p.m., officers were called to McCowan Road and Eglinton Avenue East for unknown trouble.

It’s alleged the suspect entered the victim’s home and assaulted a woman. He allegedly also stabbed a female youth several times with an edged weapon.

He then fled the scene. The victims and accused were known to each other.

The suspect was identified as Harry Rajkumar, 46, of Toronto. An extensive search was launched to find him but at the time, it was unsuccessful.

On Dec. 20, 2024, the accused was located by authorities in Guyana. He was then detained before arrangements were made to transport him back to Toronto.

Rajkumar is now facing several charges including attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Feb 7.
