One person has suffered serious injuries after a single vehicle lost control on Highway 407 on Wednesday night.

Provincial police say a vehicle was travelling eastbound on the highway when they lost control and spun out east of Airport Road.

As the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to reach the centre median, they were struck by another eastbound vehicle.

Paramedics tell CityNews the driver was taken to a trauma centre in serious condition. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Provincial police say road and weather conditions in the area continue to be poor.
