A new exhibit showcasing Indigenous culture is coming to Edmonton’s City Centre mall.
“UNCEDED: Voices of the Land” is the world’s first Indigenous-led contemporary architecture exhibit.
The audio-visual immersive experience – exploring themes of Indigeneity, resiliency, sovereignty and colonization – will showcase the work of 18 Indigenous architects and designers.
It will include a 3,000-square foot interactive maze, bringing a unique flair to cultural celebration.
It opens its doors to the public March 8 and will run until June 21.
After its time in Edmonton, the exhibit will travel south to Calgary beginning July 4.
“UNCEDED” was previously at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale and the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau in 2019.
