Man, 48, killed in single-vehicle Vaughan crash

A 48-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Vaughan.

Police in York Region say the crash happened at Weston Road and Rutherford Road around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene while a 44-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. They were the only occupants in the minivan at the time of the crash.

Police said the southbound lanes of Weston required repairs as a result of the crash before reopening.

This story has been corrected to show the age of the man killed as 48. Police had initially indicated that he was 44.
