3 injured in North York apartment fire

Three people were taken to hospital after being injured in a two-alarm apartment fire in North York.

Toronto Fire crews, and other emergency personnel, were called to a unit on the 6th floor of the highrise, located near Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue West, around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Paramedics say an elderly woman was taken to hospital’s burn centre for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Two elderly men suffered smoke inhalation and were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The fire has since been extinguished.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
