Elderly woman dead after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby

An elderly woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby.

Durham police were called to the area of Brock Street North and Mary Street West around 1:15 p.m.

A single vehicle had struck the 82-year-old pedestrian. She was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

In an update on Saturday, police say the woman has succumbed to her injuries.
