Man, 97, critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A 97-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Saturday night.

Toronto police say the man was crossing Sheppard Avenue from the north side near Allanford Road just before 6:30 p.m. when a Toyota Sienna, which was going eastbound on Sheppard, struck the pedestrian.

Paramedics transported the man to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has security or dash cam footage of the area is asked to contact police
