Arsenal’s Van Persie sidelined 3 weeks

LONDON — Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will be sidelined for three weeks with a knee injury, ruling him out of next week’s Champions League match at Barcelona.

The Netherlands forward was injured while scoring in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Birmingham in the League Cup final.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says “we had bad news on the scan and he will be out for the next three weeks for sure.”

Arsenal has a 2-1 lead over Barcelona going into Tuesday’s second leg.
