NASA postpones shuttle launch

NASA has scrapped Friday’s planned launch of the space shuttle Endeavour due to technical problems.

Officials say two heaters on one of the shuttle’s three on-board power units failed.

The launch is expected to be delayed until at least Sunday.

Endeavour was due to depart Cape Canaveral, Florida at 3:47 p.m. It’s on a mission to deliver a physics experiment to the International Space Station.

This launch is highly anticipated event. Not only it is Endeavour’s final flight, but both U.S. President Barack Obama and Representative Gabrielle Giffords are attending the launch.

Giffords, who was gravely wounded during an assassination attempt during a campaign event in Tucson, Arizona in January, is married to Endeavour commander Mark Kelly.
