Police asking for witnesses after woman sexually assaulted

Toronto police are asking anyone who may have witnessed a sexual assault in the east end to come forward.

A woman was walking near Jane Street and Eglinton Avenue West around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a man approached her from behind and sexually assaulted her.

She fought back and the man fled the scene.

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, five-foot-11 to six-feet tall, has a medium build and a round face with slight facial hair on his chin. He was wearing beige shorts, a white short-sleeve T-shirt, and a dark blue or black baseball hat.

The sexual assault is believed to have been witnessed by people in the area and police are asking anyone with information to come forward and speak to them.
