2nd victim in fatal Mississauga crash identified

A man who died in a crash in Mississauga on Friday night has been identified.

Ali Habib, 21, was one of two men killed in the single-vehicle collision, friends of the victim told CityNews on Sunday.

Babar Akram, 24, also died, leaving behind a wife and three-year-old daughter.

Around 11:45 p.m., the victims’ car flipped and landed on a residential front lawn on Erin Centre Boulevard, northeast of Ninth Line.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Peel police released the ages, but not the names, of the victims. Police said the 21-year-old was driving at the time.

Witnesses said many drivers race through the area and speed may have caused the crash.
