York regional police have released video of a suspect vehicle in connection with an apparent abduction in Richmond Hill.

On Thursday, police released a video that showed a man ringing a doorbell at a home in the area of High Tech Road and Silver Linden Drive near Highway 7 at 2:50 a.m.

When no one answered the door, video surveillance captured a man who appears to be armed with a handgun get out of a parked vehicle and have an altercation with the woman on the porch of the home.

The video showed the man, who has short hair and was wearing a hoodie, drag the woman to his car by her hair and drive away, while threatening to kill her.

“The man can be seen dragging the woman by her hair or the hoodie of her shirt out [to] that vehicle, pushing her into that vehicle, [and] drives way,” Const. Andy Pattenden said.

“We don’t know who these people are in the video and what’s very concerning is the man in the video appears to have a handgun.”

The suspect vehicle is described as a new model, compact SUV, which was seen on video leaving the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who may know the suspect or the woman to contact investigators immediately.

They’re also urging any nearby businesses or homes with video surveillance, or any drivers who may have been in the area at the time with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
