Peel Police are warning women in Mississauga about a high-risk sex offender who was released from custody on Tuesday.
Twenty-nine-year-old Roger Waddling will be once again moving into the Dixie and Bloor neighbourhood he was promptly ousted from after breaching the conditions of his initial release 6 weeks ago.
Convicted of aggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement, Waddling served his full sentence and was released a month and half ago. Within 24 hours he was back behind bars.
“The last time I saw him was the day after he came out of jail,” recalls one area resident. “He was.out by the liquor store, a couple of cops picked him up and he was walking around stumbling drunk with a bottle.”
He was rearrested for breaching conditions of his release for buying alcohol.
But now he’s a free man once again, and neighbours are understandably on edge.
“It’s make me very uncomfortable that someone in this area has committed such crimes,” said one woman.
Police are equally concerned. They note that Waddling never sought treatment while in prison, making him a prime candidate to re-offend.
“He has a violent past, he has an extensive criminal history,” said Sgt. Craig Platt. “What we are asking the public to do is just be aware that he is there.”
