Toronto police say a person who was stabbed near Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue in North York on Monday afternoon has died.

Two other people, including the suspect, also suffered injuries considered to be life-threatening.

“Near the man we found a weapon, it was seized and this man even though he’s in hospital, he’s considered in police custody. (He’s) believed responsible for what has happened,” said Const. David Hopkinson.

“During another search of the area we found a third victim suffering stab wounds. That third victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.”

Police believe the attack happened both inside and outside of a spa in the area.

Homicide has taken over the investigation.

No further details were immediately available.
