Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in Brampton hit-and-run

Peel are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a hit-and-run in Brampton.

The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m., Saturday at Castlemore Road and Bayridge Drive, west of Goreway Drive.

Police say a 69-year-old male was in the crosswalk on the west side of Crystalhill Drive, crossing Castlemore Road, when a vehicle turned right onto Castlemore Road, knocking the victim to the ground.

The man sustained serious head injuries and broken bones. He was transported to a Toronto hospital and remains in critical but stable condition.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene without stopping.

Witnesses described the vehicle to police as a light coloured minivan, which was last seen westbound on Castlemore Road, towards Airport Road.
