Gwen Stefani Leaves No Doubt About Her Visit To Toronto

She’s won a Grammy.

She has a new album out.

And there are all kinds of rumours she’s going to get back together with her No Doubt cohorts.

So with all that going on, what does Gwen Stefani want to talk about to the exclusion of just about everything else? Her new baby, Kingston, who she delivered in May.

“You know what happened like two days ago?” she gushes during a stop in Toronto. “He got this little attitude, and he was like — he’s so different. It’s amazing. It just makes you — I mean, I’m all sparkly talking about it because it’s just such a miracle!”

Stefani dropped by MuchMusic Tuesday to talk about her second solo album, “The Sweet Escape.”

But there’s no escaping little Kingston in nearly everything she does. Not that she’s working too hard even when she’s on the job.

“Let’s be realistic. My work is fun. Like it’s like the funnest job you can have. It’s like getting around with my best friends and like singing songs and playing dress-up,” she agrees.

How does she find time for that eternal dilemma, the balance between family and career? “I think it’s not really work,” she responds. “Although the hours are hard and that kind of thing, but it’s not as hard as I thought it was going to be with him.”

And then the rock star shows she has more in common with the average mom than you might think. “Who cares?” she concludes. “I’ll sleep sometime later.”

Her new album hits store shelves December 5th.  And you can be sure Kingston won’t be far away.
