Amy Poehler Gives Birth To Baby Boy

“Can I just spray a little PAM down there right before the baby comes out?,” Amy Poehler’s character asked in the movie Baby Mama.

Safe to say, the renowned comedian was joking then – but she may have been hoping for any kind of relief Saturday.

Poehler gave birth to an eight pound, one ounce boy just hours before she was set to appear on Saturday Night Live.

Despite her commitment to the show, including an appearance in a live political special Thursday and attending rehearsals Friday, she never made it to the big gig.

Instead, she and husband Will Arnett welcomed Archie Arnett into the world. She and the baby are “healthy and resting comfortably,” according to spokesman Lewis Kay.

Seth Myers was left to host the popular “Weekend Update” segment alone.

“Amy Poehler is not here tonight because she’s having a baby. Now here are tonight’s other top stories,” he began.

Poehler is known for playing Sen Hillary Rodham Clinton on the NBC show, starring opposite Tina Fey in Baby Mama, and her work with the Upright Citizen’s Brigade.

Next up, she’ll star in her own sitcom created by the same team behind The Office.
