Jury Deliberating Fate Of Woman Accused In Lesbian Axe Murder Plot

The jury is deliberating the fate of a woman accused of killing her boyfriend so that she could be with her lesbian lover.

Nicola Puddicombe (pictured), 36, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Dennis Hoy. Hoy was 36 years old when he was found dead in Puddicombe’s bed on October 27, 2006.

They had been dating for 11 years.  An autopsy found he had been hacked to death with an axe.

The Crown claims that Puddicombe planned the murder, but it was Ashleigh Pechaluk who delivered the fatal blows.

Pechaluk was acquitted in June. However, she confessed to police that she acted alone when she killed Hoy. That evidence was not used in her trial, but the video was played during Puddicombe’s hearing.

Pechaluk later recanted.

The two allegedly planned to collect the insurance money from Hoy’s death.
