Citytv Offers Star-Studded Lineup For Annual New Year’s Bash

Let’s face it: this is far from our first time, so it’s a pretty good bet that Citytv knows how to throw a New Year’s Bash.

In fact this Wednesday’s will be our 24th annual New Year’s party, coming to you live from Nathan Phillips Square in the heart of Toronto starting Dec. 31 at 10:30pm.

The free outdoor concert is hosted by CityNews’ Gord Martineau and Breakfast Television’s Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese, and CityLine’s Tracy Moore.

And for any of the 40,000 or so expected to head down, the pre-broadcast show kicks off at 9pm with Citytv personalities Farah Nasser and Roger Petersen.

Performers include Dru, Kreesha Turner, Suzie McNeil, Shiloh, Tristan Avakian, Danny Fernandez and the cast of Jersey Boys.

Plus there will almost certainly be visits from cast members of your favourite prime time Citytv programs.

“Rain, snow, sleet, whatever, this is the place to be,” promises Executive Producer Robert Lawlor.

The alcohol-free, family-friendly event will not only air on Citytv, but on OMNI 2 and will be streamed live at Citytv.com .

For those not planning to hit Nathan Phillips Square on the 31st but who still want to celebrate a festive but frugal New Year’s Eve, there are plenty of ways to do so.
