Victim Identified In Fatal Crash

The victim of a fatal weekend crash has been identified.

Darlene Goodfellow, 49, was killed on Sunday.

In a tragic twist, she was on her way home from visiting her husband, a firefighter who had been injured in a car crash on Saturday.

“We are all very shaken by this chain of events,” Napanee mayor Gordon Schermerhorn said.

“Our small community is pulling together to help those involved in the tragic accident and their family,” he added.

There was a firefighting competition in Windsor on Saturday. A group from Napanee was returning home when they crashed on Highway 401, near London.

Their family went to visit them in hospital. On their way home on Sunday morning, their bus rolled into a ditch near Woodstock.

Goodfellow was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and 11 other people were hurt. Six passengers have been released from hospital, but the driver and five passengers are still being treated.
