McDonald’s and plant-based burgers go hand in hand, everyone knows that.
Sarcasm aside, the fast-food chain announced on Monday that it will test a new plant-based burger, called the ‘McPlant,” in key markets next year.
Similar to fast-food competitors like Burger King, the company is aiming to try its hand on the plant-based trend.
“Beyond Meat and McDonald’s co-created the plant-based patty which will be available as part of their McPlant platform,” a Beyond Meat spokesperson told 680 NEWS.
UPDATE – Beyond says it is involved in this.

In 2019, McDonald’s introduced a burger in Canada made with patties from Beyond Meat; a seller of meatless products.
By April, the chain had ended the pilot and has said that it has no plans to bring back its plant-based burger any time soon.
McDonald’s also announced its intention to roll out brand new packaging with a “modern, refreshing feel.”
The company will introduce this new feature globally over the next few years.
