TORONTO, Ont. – Actor and singer Denis Simpson, a native of Vancouver, passed away Friday morning in Toronto following a brain hemorrhage, with his family by his side.
He was the original bass singer for popular a-cappella group The Nylons, but children knew him better as the longtime host of television’s Polka Dot Door.
The 59 year old was in Toronto to start rehearsals for another children’s production at the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People.
Later in his career, he hosted a cooking show on Channel M and appeared as the Live Eye Guy for CityTV.
