Some Torontonians to receive Vehicle Registration Tax refund

TORONTO, Ont. – There may be something extra in your mailbox next week.
Mayor Rob Ford plans to send out refund cheques for the now-defunct Vehicle Registration Tax for those who paid a year in advance.
Ford plans to mark the occasion Friday by dropping the first batch of refund cheques in the mail at the main entrance of City Hall.
Axing the $60 tax was one of Ford’s campaign promises.
