Health Canada reviews popular birth control pills

TORONTO, On. – Health Canada is conducting a safety review of two popular birth control pills on the market.
Yaz and Yasmin are under currently under review, as Health Canada is concerned these products have a higher risk of causing blood clots than other oral contraceptives.
The development of blood clots are a rare, but a well known side effect of all birth control pills. Both Yaz and Yasmin contain a chemical that is not used in other birth control pills sold in Canada.
