One airlifted to Toronto hospital after serious crash on Hwy. 400

TORONTO, Ont. – One man with life-threatening injuries was airlifted from a hospital in Barrie to Sunnybrook Hospital after a serious crash on the Highway 400 ramp to Innisfil Beach Road.
The crash, which occurred just south of Barrie early Saturday afternoon, involved a motorcycle failing to navigate a turn and eventually striking a highway sign.
Traffic was backed up on Highway 400 from Highway 89 to Innisfil Beach Road following the collision, and the exit from the northbound 400 to Innisfil Beach Road was closed for the investigation.
The driver is a 40-year-old male from Puslinch Ontario. He was initially transported to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie before being taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in critical condition.
