Police investigate armed robbery at Avenue Rd. restaurant

TORONTO, Ont. – Ten people are being questioned by police in connection with a robbery at a popular uptown restaurant Wednesday evening.

The incident took took place in the Lobster Trap restaurant, located at 1962 Avenue Rd., located near Haddington Avenue and Wilson Road, at around 10 p.m.

Suspects armed with knives and guns entered through the rear of the restaurant and robbed patrons and staff, including the cash in the register.

No injuries were reported.

Around 12 people were inside the restaurant at the time, including customers celebrating a birthday.

Investigators are questioning those in custody, but police said they don’t expect all of them will be charged.
