Canada slaps more sanctions on Iran

TORONTO, Ont. – Canada has decided to step up the sanctions on Iran to limit the country’s access to uranium and nuclear materials.

They are also limiting technology gained through third parties such as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

This change has come about in order to follow the resolution by the United Nations from June 9.

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon assures that these sanctions are not meant to harm the Iranian people.

He said that “officials from the government are in close contact all the time” in order to prevent any issues with Iran.
