Police are canvassing a Durham neighbourhood as they continue to hunt for suspects in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Ajax on Thursday morning.
Durham Police were called to a home on Pembry Drive, near Kingston Road and Westney Road, just before 4:30 a.m. after getting reports of shots fired.
Durham Regional Police can still neither confirm nor deny if the shooter who killed a 33-year old man on Pembry Dr. in Whitby early this morning, is the same armed man arrested after barricading himself in a house on Highland Ave. in Oshawa. @CityNewsTO pic.twitter.com/E7SFjt1Bg2

The 33-year-old victim — who’s being identified as Moe by friends — was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.
A close friend of the victim who lives nearby told CityNews’, he just hung out with his friend on Wednesday evening to watch some cartoons.
“I’m still shocked right now — I’m still shaking on the inside to be honest. This is not it for me. This is too close to home,” added Mac Jemmott.
Jemmott said Moe — a father of two — had been living in the home with his girlfriend and their three dogs.
This is Durham’s seventh homicide so far this year.
Meantime, Durham Regional Police have not denied that a standoff in southeast Oshawa, where an armed person barricaded themselves inside a residence is connected to Thursday morning’s shooting.
Three schools in the Olive Avenue and Wilson Road area were placed under hold and secure as a precaution.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is being asked to contact police.
