A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect in the shooting death of 23-year-old Mohamed Asser in Scarborough last December.
Police and paramedics were called to a nightclub in an industrial strip mall on Nugget Avenue, near McCowan Road and Sheppard Avenue East, just before 4 a.m. on December 13 after reports of a shooting.
Police found Asser suffering injuries at the scene. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Less than a week after the fatal shooting, police arrested Jonathan Hill, 32, and charged him with second-degree murder.
On Thursday, police issued a Canada-wide warrant for a second suspect in the case.
Demetrius McFarquhar, 28, of Toronto, is being sought for second-degree murder.
