A winter weather travel advisory remains in effect for Toronto and the GTA as another round of snow hit the region on Friday morning.

“A developing low pressure centre is giving a swath of snow to the region that will end by early in the afternoon,” Environment Canada says. “The morning commute will likely be impacted due to snow falling heavily at times.”

Toronto woke up to around 2 cm of snow and CityNews meteorologist Jill Taylor says light, blowing snow will continue until the early afternoon leaving another 2 to 4 cm.

The snow is expected to taper off by the early afternoon.

Canada’s weather agency warns Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.

“There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas,” Canada’s weather agency warns.

Temperatures will continue to plummet through the weekend, with a daily high of -2 C expected by mid-afternoon on Saturday. Toronto could see light flurries on Sunday with a high of around -3 C.
